Empowering Student Success
Students who complete the MSMS with a Tiber Health University Partner go on to achieve success gaining admission to medical school. In a 2023 study of students at PHSU, we also found that students who completed the MSMS went on to achieve similar USMLE Step 1 scores as directly admitted MD students, despite entering the program with lower undergraduate GPAs and MCAT scores. Addressing Physician Shortages
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) projects that the U.S. will face a total shortage of 86,000 physicians by 2036. Some areas and specialties are already facing shortages. For example, physicians of all specialties are in short supply in rural communities, while residencies for trainee primary care and pediatric care physicians routinely go unfilled. By helping more students access health science training that can lead to medical school admission, we’re supporting efforts to reduce these shortages.
